Flown by Ernst Kessler in The Great Waldo Pepper in the 1975 film
The Fokker Dr.1 was is an iconic fighter aircraft with many vices but, in the hands of an experienced pilot, it was a formidable weapon. This particular rendition is a rare departure from our historic prototypes, being a replica of the aircraft flown by the fictional character Ernst Kessler in the compelling 1975 film staring Robert Redford as Pepper, and Bo Brundin as Kessler.
The Dr.1 kit includes a vacuum formed plastic cowl, extensive laser cut light plywood parts and a replica Oberursel II rotary engine kit that actually spins with the prop!
Our love of aviation history ensures that the aircraft we choose to reproduce as kits not only look fantastic on static display and in the air, but they also carry a depth of history that can be explored. The Royal Aircraft Factory SE5a was an all round fighter that was much admired by those that flew it. And, due to its performance at altitude, was a worthy adversary of the Fokker DVII when it reached the front in 1918.
The Microaces 'Dreidecker' comes complete with a vac-formed cowl and a spinning Oberursel Ur.II dummy rotary engine kit, that adds an incredible level of mechanical detail to this astounding model.
The revised edition kit also includes enhanced and additional detail: Improved MGs, mounting step and lifting handles.
